Terry Cooper Services has launched a three-knife trimmer for on-demand print that is claimed to enable customers to triple their production volume with its range of features.

According to Terry Cooper Services, the CMT330 trimmer from Challenge is available in in-line and near-line systems with a multi-book optional feature to maximise productivity.

It is claimed that the trimmer has a multi-book cutting option and by choosing this, the customer can trim up to three books at a time and finish soft cover and perfect bound books at up to 900 books an hour.

A hydraulic cutting action can now process books up to 50mm thick and with its high-speed change option (in under six seconds) and maintenance-free knife bar gibs, ensure processes are streamlined and production time is more cost effective, claimed Terry Cooper Services.

Other features include a 99-job memory facility for speed of repeat jobs and a delivery section measuring 920mm that allows books to be stacked on their spine.

This facility enables a longer drying time, in an upright position, resulting in an exact square spine.

The Challenge CMT330 is said to be easy to operate with clear graphic LCD displays when the job is in progress.
