POP and large format print specialist, the Terry Smith Group, has recruited Andrew Hinton, who was head of communication at Delta Display, to drive the Terry Smith's external communication strategy Hinton had previously performed a similar role at Delta, where he was instrumental in winning several major accounts including EA Games and Lloyds TSB

He will now be responsible for all marketing and tendering activity for the Terry Smith Group.

He has spent his entire career in the printing industry, mainly on the client side and was head of international client services for Paramount-Universal Pictures HE for several years, before joining entertainment marketing specialist Revolution as managing director.

Hinton commented: "I have been watching Terry Smith Group for some time as it represents the vanguard of a new breed of printer.

It understands the need for the industry to modernise its business practice, not only to stay ahead of its competitors and the PMCs, but also other forms of emerging media.

Whilst it is a major player in the point-of-sale and visual communications industry with a very impressive plant list, the focus is very much towards understanding the individual requirements of each client and building relationships that are based on bespoke solutions across an array of added value services." Terry Smith, managing director, added: "Andrew brings a level of expertise and understanding to that is sure to further strengthen our offering.

We share the same passion for our industry and the same vision - where we want to take the company and more importantly how to get there." The group has just installed a fully functional shopping mall at its facility in Heathrow so that clients may view proposed point-of-sale in their own retail store environment and, therefore, in context.

Terry Smith Group employees 150 people and is 25 years old this year.
