Tenza Technologies, the manufacturer of self-adhesive products for the packaging and stationery industries, has launched a new anti-microbial face material, Tenzaguard It is claimed that the laminate face material can be teamed with Tenza's different adhesive and release liner combinations to produce a variety of anti-microbial labels

The anti-microbial labels will have a number of applications but will be particularly welcomed by the pharmaceutical industry and health organisations faced with the alarming increase in hospital acquired infections such as MRSA, said Tenza.

The active ingredients in the anti-microbial face material are claimed to be 99 per cent effective in limiting the growth of MRSA.

It also successfully fights against other harmful bacteria including listeria, E-coli and salmonella, added the company.

Ib Schjotz-Pedersen, head of sales and marketing at Tenza Technologies, said: "Tenzaguard is something that the pharmaceutical market urgently requires.

It is a highly significant development in the fight against the spread of bacteria that lead to nasty infections, enabling medical workers to handle all types of medical packages and bottles with confidence.

We already supply the market with an anti-microbial film called Coverguard and we have now extended that principal to our Bespoke Laminate Solutions range.".
