The new fleet will be managed through Moving Print Distribution (MPD), specialists in the management of logistical services for film and retail industries and part of The Delta Group.

The enhanced fleet will enable The Delta Group to meet increasing demand from its clients in film and retail across the UK and beyond, said the company.

It will also provide clients with a flexible range of transport services to move POP units and goods, ranging from small vans appropriate for making Soho (London) cinema drops, to HGVs suitable for transporting large quantities of merchandise.

Mike Phillips, managing director of The Delta Group, commented: "Following the tremendous success of our merchandising and audit teams, we have invested in new vehicles to ensure that The Delta Group can remain responsive and efficient in meeting our customer's requirements.

Our new range of vehicles will also provide additional flexibility for the types of goods that can be delivered." The new fleet has been fitted with the latest global positioning satellite (GPS) technology and has also been complimented by an upgrade to the handheld PDA units used by drivers and the merchandising team, which provide real time on- line reporting to clients via a dedicated client web site.

The PDA system allows MPD to provide total transparency in reporting from both a logistics and merchandising perspective, added Delta.

Delta employs more than 300 permanent staff.

Its client portfolio includes film, video and computer games companies, as well as multiple high street retailers and supermarket chains.
