Print Firm's Performance Helps Travel Client Grow

Print and design specialists The 5 Core Group has completed the printing of an exotic range of travel brochures for premium travel company, Western and Oriental Travel.

The company forms part of Western and Oriental plc and comprises Mediterranean Experience, Regent Holidays, Ranch America, South American Experience, Ski the American Dream, Hawaiian Dream, Harlequin Luxury Worldwide Travel, Made to Measure Holidays, Tropical Locations, Travel Management Team and Lynton Cooper.

5 Core began printing for the company five years ago and gradually the brand has grown through acquisitions and has also become publicly quoted.

Mike Bevens, head of marketing at W and O, explained his reasons for his loyalty to the West Berkshire (UK) print company: "A combination of good communications and an awareness of our needs, helps bring all brochures together within crucial timeframes and, just as importantly, within budget." The job has now grown to encompass 13 four-colour brochures, measuring 276mm x 216mm, each with a print run between 5,000 and 20,000 and with between 36 - 120 pages.

Stock specifications are according to two divisional styles: The Western and Oriental branded brochures feature a 300gsm offset cover with embossing and silver foil blocked logo.

Text is on 130gsm stock.

Regent branded brochures have a 200gsm silk cover and 120gsm silk text.

In accordance with the company's ecological concerns, all stock is sourced from sustainable forests.

Artwork is generated in the 5 Core studios, designed from supplied copy and printed on the two five-colour and six-colour presses.

Each brochure follows a branded template with individual front cover embossing and divisional logos.

Storage and distribution is also undertaken by 5 Core.

The brochures are delivered, according to a schedule, to a variety of destinations.
