New Recycled Paper From Post-Consumer Waste

A The James McNaughton Group product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Oct 19, 2007

Recovered fibre from 100 per cent post-consumer waste is being used by The James McNaughton Group to produce its new Take 2 Print recycled paper.

Take 2 Print was developed by the company, it said, following strong demand for recycled products and the new paper complements the existing Take 2 Offset and Take 2 Silk ranges.

McNaughton claimed that Take 2 Print's raw materials reduce the pressure on landfill sites for weaster disposal.

Take 2 Print's environmental credentials are further strengthened by the conversion of the post consumer waste at the mill's own de-inking plant where it is converted in to pulp using a chlorine free process and without the use of any optical bleaching agents.

Take 2 Print is said to be suitable for a range of uses from corporate social responsibility reports to brochures and magazines and mailers, coming in popular sizes between SRA2 and B1 and with weights ranging between 80gsm and 300gsm.

The paper has also achieved environmental accreditations, including ISO14001, Nordic Swan and the Blue Angel.

To launch Take 2 Print, McNaughton has produced a booklet printed on Take 2 Print 300gsm and 170gsm, which explains the environmentally responsible production process in detail, whilst illustrating the product's printability, good opacity, excellent bulk and range details, said the company.

Tony Porter, James McNaughton Group's group marketing director, commented: "Take 2 Print is a perfect edition to the Take 2 range.

We have sourced this product due to the growing demand from our customers for recycled products.

The 100 per cent post-consumer waste content and lack of bleaching agents gives Take 2 Print very strong environmental credentials.".
