Tint Books Benefit From Environmental Papers

A The James McNaughton Group product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Nov 29, 2007

The ability for paper, design and print to produce innovative publications has been demonstrated by The James McNaughton Group along with colour printer Boss Print and press manufacturer Heidelberg.

The three companies collaborated on Boss's new tint book.

The four-colour swatch book is divided in to two 54pp tint selector books, 'Spot the difference on coated' and 'Spot the difference on uncoated'.

The James McNaughton Group said that 120 designers, creative personnel, specifiers and production staff from UK design and creative agencies gathered together at the St Bride Foundation in London for the launch of the book and to celebrate the three-way industry collaboration, which helped to produce the books.

McNaughton was chosen by Boss to provide the paper used in the tint book project with the company's Challenger Offset and Hanno Art Silk stocks selected.

Tony Porter, James McNaughton's group marketing director, stressed the growing importance of the environment as a major factor in the paper selection process.

It was a factor demonstrated in the Boss project, as Challenger Offset contains Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved virgin fibre, whilst Hanno Art Silk is certified by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), he explained.

Porter added: "We were delighted to be involved in this innovative project.

Customers will find that using the tint book will result in even better printed results on our paper and board products.".
