Paper Firm's Christmas Card Recycling For Charity

A The James McNaughton Group product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Dec 20, 2007

This year the James McNaughton Group is offering to collect all of its customers' Christmas cards and recycle them.

According to the James McNaughton Group one tonne of recycled Christmas Cards will help UK paper supplier The James McNaughton Group raise GBP250 for its chosen charity, Macmillan Cancer Support.

The company has made a plea for all companies to have them collected by McNaughton for onward delivery to paper manufacturer M-real's recycling mill in Kent, rather than the cards being disposed of as waste.

McNaughton said that in the UK, it is estimated that over one billion Christmas cards are sent every year and companies sending cards to each other make up a sizeable percentage of the total.

Howard Browning, James McNaughton's group director for corporate responsibility, commented: "As a major supplier of specialised greeting card materials, such as Incada Silk, Gemini, Gemini Recycled and Festival Board One, we are very mindful of our environmental responsibilities in terms of increasing recycling levels and reducing unnecessary waste.".
