Providing guidance to the design industry and its printing and end clients, the Creative Industries Regeneration Team had a tailored environmental seminar from paper firm the James McNaughton Group.

The McNaughton Group said it was able to create an environmental seminar that was tailored to CIRT's specific requirements, covering issues such as recycling, landfill, reduction of CO2 emissions, carbon offsetting, carbon neutrality and the growing demand for forest management certification, including FSC and PEFC.

Working with creative businesses, the Creative Industries Regeneration Team recognises the growing importance being placed on environmental issues, said James McNaughton.

The Creative Industries Regeneration Team (CIRT), based at the Leicester Creative Business Depot in the UK, was formed to offer free business advice, support and mentoring for the creative industries in Leicester.

CIRT offers support for running a creative business, from helping with cash-flow issues, through to marketing and employment regulations.

Speaking about the seminar, Tony Porter, James McNaughton Group's marketing director, commented: "The information was presented in a clear and concise way and was well received by the CIRT team.

Following the success of our seminars to the printing industry, we are now looking to provide tailored seminars to the design industry, where there is great demand to learn more about chain of custody and environmental issues.".
