Specialist packaging and printing group OPM is celebrating a double win after being appointed approved print suppliers to retailers Marks and Spencer and a leading UK supermarket.
The OPM Group was awarded the deals in recognition of its print production.
The company joins a roster of companies who are recommended by the retailers to category managers and third party suppliers as its preferred providers of print services.
The appointment of OPM follows rigorous audits of its production operations and its ability to meet stringent quality requirements.
OPM provides flexible packaging and specialist labels for a range of sectors, including food and retail, cosmetics, brewing and confectionery.
OPM's managing director, Chris Ellison, commented: "We are delighted to have been appointed as preferred suppliers to two major UK retailers.
Both M and S and our supermarket client have demanding brand requirements and our role is to produce innovative packaging for them, across a variety of formats, ensuring that their brand identity remains absolutely consistent across each piece of packaging." The appointment of OPM as preferred suppliers to the major retailers has endorsed the group's decision, three years ago, to specialise in short-run flexible packaging.
Chris Ellison commented: "Flexible packaging is a specialist market and we have developed a particular niche within that market.
The items we produce are very high quality and, more importantly, are produced in short run quantities.
That enables new product development managers and marketing managers from blue chip brands to create a small batch of a product to test with customers, or to conduct a market trial." OPM has just been accredited by the British Retail Consortium and Institute of Packaging for its technical standard in supplying food packaging materials for retailer branded products (Category B).
Ellison added: "We have earned a reputation for innovation and high quality as a result of investing continuously in the quality of our print technology and our employees.".
