Packaging artwork and reprographics company McGurk Studios, an associate company of the McGurk Group has strengthened its studio team with Alex Forster returning to the firm.
Chris Ellison,OPM's managing director, commented: "Flexible packaging is a specialist market and we have developed a particular niche within it.
The items we produce are very high quality and, more importantly, are produced in short run quantities.
That enables new product development managers and marketing managers from blue chip brands to create a small batch of a product to test with customers, or to conduct a market trial." He added: "Our clients need to be confident that our flexible packaging is of the highest quality but also want to deal with a printer whose production processes can specialise in short runs." One gold award from the Flexographic Technical Association was for a specialist gourmet herbs sachet, designed for Co-operative Retail Group in the UK to help customers sample a new product range.
The second was for the flexible packaging provided for a health and beauty products client.
The European Flexographic Technical Association awarded the OPM Group a gold prize for a gift sachet it produced for the retailer Clinton Cards.
Judging for both awards was conducted by an international panel of print technology experts and OPM Group competed against hundreds of nominee entrants to win the top prizes.
The awards bring to 40 the number of trade awards won by OPM in the past two years.
Chris Ellison said: "Both the FTA and EFTA awards are very highly regarded and we are delighted to have been recognised in a number of categories, particularly flexible packaging.
We have earned a reputation for innovation and high quality as a result of investing continuously in the quality of our print technology and our employees.
The awards help to demonstrate to current and future clients that we are regarded by the international print industry as one of the best providers.".
