Thanet Press, one of the UK's longest-established print companies, has clinched a five-year tender with Merseytravel to print railway timetables.
Merseytravel co-ordinates public transport in Merseyside in partnership with private bus and rail operators.
David Hurley, managing director for Thanet Press, said: "We're delighted to be working with Merseytravel in what we're sure will be the start of a very beneficial partnership." News of the contract win follows hot on the heels of more good news for Margate, Kent-based Thanet Press.
Procter and Gamble, one of the print company's biggest customers, has also confirmed a further extension to the existing contract to produce multi-fold leaflets for a range of pharmaceutical and cosmetics products.
Hurley added: "Our continuing relationship with Procter and Gamble is testament to our excellent reputation for quality, customer service and the ability to deliver on time.
We are one of the few print companies in the UK capable of undertaking such specialised multi-fold work and we have invested heavily in the latest new generation of multi-fold equipment to enable us to offer the highest quality and best prices." Thanet Press, part of The Baird Group of printing and communication companies, has been nominated by Euromoney as one of just three preferred suppliers, securing a contract with the London company to produce 20 financial books this year alone.
Thanet Press has also been selected as one of the Audit Commission's preferred suppliers after successfully completing a tough tender process.
Hurley commented: "This is a major boost for us.
The Audit Commission produces high-quality brochures and reports across a wide range of sectors and demands excellent results, a fast turn-around and the ability to comply with tough legal requirements to release reports within a very tight time-frame." And he added: "The year has started strongly and business is continuing to grow.
Further capital investment in the latest technology means that we have not only been able to add a host of new services to our core business but we can continue to offer the kind of competitive prices, capacity, flexibility and reliability that our customers demand.".
