The company's managing director, David Hurley, emphasised some important facts to try to create heightened awareness of the need for companies to bear more corporate social responsibility.
He said: "It takes two cords of wood to make one ton of a typical paper, where one cord equals 128 cubic feet.
There are many variables but on average, US conservation pressure group Conservatree, has calculated that one ton of uncoated virgin, or non-recycled printing and office paper uses 24 trees." He added that in newspaper production, a ton of 100 per cent virgin newsprint uses 12 trees.
