Members not only include mainstream data providers but also a organisations that provide services and products to the data provision and publishing sector, such as printers and contract directory publishers.
As print sponsor for the event, Margate-based Thanet Press, one of the DPA's associate members, produced and delivered everything from the table menus, place settings and programmes to brochures and after-dinner mints, which were provided on every table in specially-made Thanet Press presentation boxes.
Christine Scott, head of the DPA, said Thanet Press's support had helped the association to deliver an event to a highly professional standard.
she commented: "Thanet Press produced quality work and delivered all the material on time, despite being asked to handle several last-minute programme amendments.
Without the company's sponsorship, we would not necessarily have produced all the print products that we had available on the day." Thanet Press managing director David Hurley said: "The directory market in particular is tough and highly competitive so sponsoring such a prestigious event has given Thanet Press an excellent opportunity to raise its profile and show that we're a serious player.
With so many larger companies now focusing on electronic data publishing, customers seeking quality print products are turning to specialist companies, like Thanet Press, who are not only able to tailor their services to shorter print runs but can also enhance their print products with first-class IT systems." And he continued: "Unlike many of our competitors, we offer a complete service, from the first concept through to design and printing.
We can handle data in any format or size and our unique software also means we can sort and electronically tag the information, which is something our customers really value," added Hurley.
