The Cambridgeshire (UK) printer, celebrating 36 years in business, reviewed its MIS requirements and placed an order for a six-user Tharstern SQL with the Shop Floor Data Capture module.

Stuart Fairweather, the managing director, of Soloprint - TSG advised, said: "I was already aware of Tharstern but several colleagues in the print industry had also recommended them to me.

Over a period of time we looked at various packages but Tharstern was competitively priced and offered an easy to use and hands on system.

Levels of service were also a factor for us and, without question, Tharstern has been with us all the way.

He went on to add: "We offer a catalogue of in-house services under one roof including graphic design, new media and web, print, digital print and finishing.

We wanted to ensure that whatever we selected could handle and benefit our different operations.

We have completed the majority of our training and the system is already proving to be beneficial.

We can clearly see how Tharstern will enhance our operation to be even more efficient, productive and quicker.

In particular the real-time feedback from the data capture element will allow us to easily locate the progress of a job, strengthen our workflow and automatically post actual times for job costing.
