A new guide on surveying and monitoring raptors is to be published on behalf of Scottish Natural Heritage by TSO, the document and publishing services provider 'Raptors: a field guide to survey and monitoring' sets out to promote best practice for the survey and monitoring of raptors
It is a starting point for anyone wanting to begin a raptor study and comes with a CD of raptor calls to help with identification, said TSO.
Written and edited by members of the Scottish Raptor Monitoring Group, the book draws on the knowledge and experience of over 300 raptor specialists, in particular members of the Scottish Raptor Study Groups.
It has been funded by Scottish Natural Heritage, with assistance from the other Statutory Conservation Agencies in Britain and Ireland, as well as non-government bodies concerned with birds of prey.
