On February 1 the London Gazette is to launch a new data feed service for business recovery firms, financial institutions and credit management agencies.

Published by TSO, the document and publishing services provider, the new data feeds will be available as XML, a computer language that can be integrated with existing systems and eliminate re-keying.

XML feeds join the existing portfolio of Microsoft Excel and other file formats that give users immediate access to London, Edinburgh and Belfast Gazette data in a way that can be organised and filtered to suit customers' own needs.

Data feeds enable business recovery specialists to keep abreast of new entrants to the insolvency process, facilitating business development campaigns and providing company and trustee contacts, said TSO.

At a time of increasing numbers of personal insolvencies, Gazette Direct allows financial institutions to manage their exposure to bankrupts and to companies subject to insolvency proceedings.

Publishers of credit management information also use the data for re-packaging and incorporating in to value-added services.

Also featured is personal insolvency data, including bankruptcy orders for individuals and partnerships, amendment of title of proceedings, appointment of trustees, notices to creditors and intended dividends, amongst a range of other information.

It can also be provided in consolidated form, with geographical filters, or by the stage or type of insolvency.
