In a deal worth in excess of GBP100m, Polestar and IPC Media have signed a five-year contract for the production of 11 titles within the TX, Connect and Ignite magazine portfolios.
Judging is based on the findings of an extensive survey of staff who are asked questions about eight key areas - leadership, their manager, personal growth, well-being, the team they work in, giving something back, the company as a whole and fair deal, which covers pay and benefits.
The listing aims to recognise companies where welfare is to the fore and where flexible working is encouraged.
"The company has supported my development from office junior to customer service team leader in just four years since leaving school and we have had some fun along the way," said Checkprint's Nicky Bloxham.
David Wilkins, another member of the Checkprint team, added: "When I was made redundant from a local employer in 1999 Checkprint's offer to join them as an accounts administrator proved to be the start of a great new career.
After intensive training with some of the company's security and standards experts, I have taken up the role of quality co-ordinator and work with a supportive team of people, all dedicated to making a high quality product in a friendly and exciting environment." In November 2003, Checkprint was one of only five finalists in the SME category of the National Business Awards having been the only company to win two regional awards - one for SME business of the year and the other for its training and development policies.
Earlier in the year, Hinckley based Checkprint was a finalist in the 'Business in the Community' section of the Leicestershire Business Awards and the previous year the company won the Success Through People category.
"We have been building to this success in a national forum for the last few years and are delighted to have been named in the Sunday Times list," said Martin Ruda.
The Tall Group of companies comprises Checkprint in Hinckley, Leicestershire and Tall Security Print Ltd in Runcorn, Cheshire.
