UK security print and software specialist Tall has continued the company's award-winning year after landing a runners-up prize in the Cheshire Business Awards.

UK security print and software specialist Tall has continued the company's award-winning year after landing a runners-up prize in the Cheshire Business Awards.

Tall's Runcorn based division, Tall Security Print, was a finalist in the medium business category of the awards, narrowly missing out on the first prize at a dinner at the Chester Moat House Hotel last Friday.

Tall Security Print's Brian Toole said: "We were thrilled to have been named as a finalist in the business awards.

The directors, managers and all the staff at Tall have always believed in the company but it is all the more rewarding to see its success acknowledged by others.

Tall Security Print is a remarkable company and takes great pride in being well placed to tackle head on both the changes in its market place and challenges that it faces as a company and as a workforce." He added that whilst the company's core business is the production of cheques, credits and other securely printed documents, it has grown as a company through its commitment to customer service and sound knowledge of its industry and that of its clients.

Tall Security said that it has also seen a steady increase in corporate special cheque printing, despite a decline in cheque use generally and it increased turn-over by 10 per cent in the last financial year.

The company employs 104 people, with four more recruits to be taken on over coming months and it works in partnership with Manchester College of Printing on a printing apprenticeship scheme.

It has Investor in People status, having first gained the accreditation in 2000 and it also holds ISO9001:2000.

The Tall Group, which also includes Checkprint in Hinckley, Leicestershire, is a security print and services provider, working for the UK's banks, financial institutions and 70 per cent of the top 100 FTSE companies.

"Our success in the Cheshire Business Awards caps an award-winning year.

Checkprint was named as a winner of the Queen's Award for Enterprise in April and was a finalist in the innovation category of the Leicestershire Business Awards the following month," added Toole.
