Card Range's Better Ageing, Gluing And Folding
Tullis Russell has relaunched its coated SBS board range, Trucard with a new brand identity and the company plans a promotional campaign across all its European markets in 2006.
The news follows the company's re-branding of its business papers range, Advocate, last October, which included the mill's first FSC grade - Advocate Xtreme White.
FSC is an international, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world's forests.
To gain FSC certification, a forest must be managed in a manner which is beneficial to the environment and the society as well as economically viable.
The FSC system also tracks the wood fibre though the supply chain, from forest to end user, ensuring end users that they are not contributing to the destruction of the environment.
To achieve the certification, Tullis Russell was independently audited by BM TRADA Certification, which will continue to carry out annual audits to ensure that the highest standards are maintained.
Alasdair McGregor, product certification manager of BM TRADA, said: "Only a small number of paper manufacturers have achieved FSC certification so far.
The certification demonstrates that Tullis Russell is serious about raising environmental awareness within the paper industry.
It is vital we continue to receive industry buy-in and Tullis Russell is helping to set the pace.
" Malcolm Sinclair, marketing director at Tullis Russell said: "Leading the way in the SBS sector with Trucard's FSC accreditation reflects our continued commitment to producing paper and board from renewable sources.
We are a prime example of a company, which is growing and responding to market demands while maintaining an environmentally conscious approach.".
