Don Munro, chief executive of Scottish paper manufacturer and specialist coating group Tullis Russell, is to retire.

Chris Parr, currently managing director of Tullis Russell Papermakers, will take over from Munro as group chief executive with effect from September 1 Parr will initially combine his new role with his existing position of managing director, whilst the longer term management structure of the business is considered

Don Munro commented: "Tullis Russell is an excellent company and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here.

I am very pleased at what we have achieved against the backdrop of turbulent times for our industry.

We have built a strong team at Tullis Russell and I know the business will continue to prosper.".
