New Cartonboard For Cards, Covers And Packaging

A Tullis Russell Group product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Jun 14, 2007

Trucard Ice is a new ultra-high gloss, super smooth version of Trucard that is claimed to offer more choice for the card, cover and premium packaging markets.

An SBS cartonboard, Trucard Ice combines the surface of a traditional cast coated grade with the print and conversion performance of a conventional cartonboard, said Tullis Russell.

The card's coating formulation ensures printers can use standard inks with the standard drying times of regular coated sheets and the smooth finish ensures good lamination and varnishing results, whilst the flexible coating means more precise creasing and folding, added the company.

In common with the rest of the Trucard range, Trucard Ice uses a twin-wire base for bulk, stiffness and dimensional stability for print and converting performance.

Like all Trucard items, Trucard Ice is FSC accredited, made from ECF pulps and fully recyclable and it is available in a recycled version on request.

Trucard is also available in coated one-sided and two-sided gloss and matt versions (one gloss, two gloss, one matt and two matt) as well as the newly launched uncoated Trucard 0.
