Xinet's open day at the Turnmills Nightclub in London (UK) drew the crowds to hear - not the latest dance hits - but the newest developments in digital asset management.

The event was hosted by UK systems integrator Turning Point Technologies.

Delegates were given the opportunity to meet with Dale Dawson, Xinet's senior product specialist and creator of Portal to discuss the latest product developments and updates, as well as see demonstrations of the digital asset management system given by the TPT technical support team.

Commenting on the event, Carole Witter, sales director at Xinet, said: "I'm just blown away by the tremendous turnout we had.

The delegate list reads like a who's who of the UK's top agencies, retailers, pre-press and print houses and shows that digital asset management is top of the agenda for companies that want to maximise the value of their assets and exploit the powerful efficiencies it can bring to their businesses." The one-day event attracted up to 100 delegates from advertising agencies, pre-press, and print and publishing companies across the UK.

They included Augustus Martin, Clarke Mackay Walpole, Department S, EC2i, The Hub Plus, FE Burman, Fresh Media, Headley Brothers, Metro Imaging, Ogilvy and Mather, SP Group, Tag, Taylor James, Watt Gilchrist and Wyndeham Press.

In addition, TPT announced Evolution, a series of Portal modules that are claimed to allow users to integrate their production with their business workflows.

Evolution is the latest development from TPT aimed at enhancing the core functions of Xinet's Webnative Portal.

Andy Psarianos, a director of FE Burman, said: "The event was a perfect chance to get a detailed update on Xinet's and TPT's latest developments.

Xinet asset management technology is a key component of our internal and external client access workflows and we never stop expanding its capabilities." The event also included special guest presentations from Anness Publishing, the largest independent book publisher in the UK, describing how the implementation of Xinet's asset management system integrated with TPT products, has enabled a new revenue stream for the company.

Steve Emerson, TPT's managing director, said: "This event has exceeded our expectations by attracting the best production brains in the business to network and exchange ideas.

Events like these play an important part in fine tuning Xinet's product development paths and we will be holding them on a regular basis.".
