Manchester (UK) large format printer, GBM, is the first company in the UK to invest in the Luscher Jetprint 3530 UV flatbed printer for large format digital printing, supplied by TPT.

Manchester (UK) large format printer, GBM, is the first company in the UK to invest in the Luscher Jetprint 3530 UV flatbed printer for large format digital printing, supplied by systems integrator Turning Point Technologies (TPT).

The new flatbed printer will allow GBM the opportunity to work in new and different market sectors, including banner production, rigid and soft building wraps and passenger vehicles, said TPT.

Paul Towers, sales director at GBM, said: "When we carried out our market research in to suitable printers, we were specifically looking for quality and accuracy.

We did consider other manufacturers but the Luscher Jetprint was able to maintain its excellent quality whilst printing faster at 97 square metres per hour at high resolution and at 3,500mm x 3,050mm maximum format, wider than any of its competitors.

We can tile up to five jobs on the machine simultaneously and offer great value for money at the same time." The Luscher Jetprint 3530 UV is a versatile large format printer that can print on virtually any rigid or flexible substrate.

Using environmentally-friendly UV inks and featuring a productive workflow, the Jetpprint is simple to operate and a practical alternative to screen printing, said TPT.

Results on a variety of media, including rigid, PVC, polycarbonate, corrugated board, expanded plates, aluminium, styrene, acrylic, polyester, glass, wood and marble, are claimed to be impressive.

It is also said to be flexible for use on banners, self-adhesive foil, paper and other materials up to 80mm thick.

The Luscher Jetprint 3530 will join nine HP 5500s, an Epson high resolution printer for fine art, Lambda photo imaging facilities and Zund cutting, mounting and laminating equipment at GBM.

Towers continued: "TPT gave us the opportunity to see the Jetprint in action at Hediger in Switzerland, a company that produces backdrops for television studios across Europe, as well as printing transparencies for lorries, fixed superstructures, passenger vehicles and buses.

This gave us great ideas to branch out in to different sectors in the future." Originally a repro company, GBM was established over 30 years ago.

Today clients include UCI cinemas, Harvey Nichols and Cotton Traders.

As well as specialising in large-format and lenticular printing, the company works closely with the Lowry Museum providing copies from original paintings by LS Lowry to customers on demand.

GBM also offers a design service, a photographic facility, pre-press, screen, digital print finishing and distribution services to a range of retail companies and brands locally and nationally.
