Anness To Use TPT Union For Online Photo-Library
Anness Publishing plans to launch an online picture library using TPT's Union software as a front-end to the Xinet WebNative Venture database.
"The new workflow provides a fully integrated end to end solution, linking slick file transfer from Emap to Rival with a manufacturing flatplan, page management and soft proofing".
"We are very happy with progress in relation to the implementation of the new workflows - the speed of execution and the take up amongst our titles has exceeded our expectations", says Mark Tamsett, production process manager at Emap.
Rival Colour has built a successful business on Dalim Software technology.
More than ten years ago Rival Colour was one of the first to buy Dalim Twist workflow in the UK from TPI.
The company has recently added a Dalim Dialogue soft proofing facility and a Dalim Mistral production management system to further streamline the sophisticated web based services it provides its publisher customers.
"As we partner with publishers to develop bespoke production workflows, Dalim Software and TPI have worked closely with us to develop and personalise software specifically for us", says Rival IT director Anthony O'Brien.
"They have always been there for us and that is critically important," Under the guidance of directors Nick Clode, Simon Clode and Anthony O'Brien, Rival Colour has grown steadily primarily due to its focus in customer care and investment in new technology.
Dalim Software is the power house at the core of the company's facilities to which they have added a wealth of experience and skill in high-quality scanning, creative retouching and online asset management.
The ability to offer a high-level of production automation with the facility to enable clients to track jobs online and through all stages of the process has enabled the company to win contracts with many of Europe's leading magazine publishers.
"By partnering with us EMAP has the support of a skilled prepress team equipped with superb processing software and data management capabilities," says Nick Clode.
"We give them instant online access to the production workflow with the confidence that they will get consistently good results".
"These days publishers want to do as much of the page makeup as possible in-house".
"However they don't want to make the significant and ongoing investment in skills and technology that is needed to ready that page for printing".
"That's where we come in".
"A great deal of time and effort has gone into developing a wide range of ICC profiles that are integrated into the Dalim Software system and automatically applied to the files as required".
"We now produce PDF files that are accurately targeted to each destination press so the results are perfect every time," explains Nick Clode.
Rival Colour has also integrated a powerful online asset management facility into its Dalim Software system powered by Xinet WebNative, also supplied by TPI.
The facility provides a centralised, single point of access for a publisher's digital assets and artwork and, using a standard web browser, they can search for, download, upload, preview and re-purpose files and assets, 24-hours a day.
"Magazines love the fact that they can access their assets, easily and securely, at any time which allows them to turn around more jobs, more quickly", adds Simon Clode.
Dalim Software has been central to Rival Colour's transformation over the past few years.
"Over 18 years Rival has moved from providing primarily analogue repro processes to providing sophisticated data management services," explains Steve Emerson, sales and marketing director, Turning Point Innovation.
"They have blended their skills with leading edge software to provide the support that publishers need.".
