UPM Pushes Finesse Wood-Free Papers At
Drupa 08

Paper producer UPM will launch a new campaign for its flagship product, the Finesse range of wood-free coated papers during the Drupa 2008 exhibition.

The company said that the campaign will highlight the paper's whiteness to reproduce images in the most 'true-to-life' manner During Drupa UPM will also introduce some new products, including a printing simulator for training use and a new iRoll portable system for optimised printing press performance

UPM will also unveil a new Paper Sommelier for paper specifiers, including editors, advertisers and advertising agencies.

UPM said it will be actively involved in the Printcity 'connection of competence' concept during Drupa.

The company has been active in various Printcity activity group projects, which will be presented in the Drupa Competence Centres.

The Competence Centres will highlight such subjects as value added UV printing and web offset production, as well as digital trans-promotion printing, whilst exploring 'Print Meets Electronic Media'.

In the projects the competences of various companies are combined to create and UPM said it will contribute the various possibilities of paper within the context of the projects.

The Competence Centres will be in hall 6 at the show and will be staffed by Printcity Alliance members.

UPM's Ella Store Labels, RFID and Presence products will be present in the Print Meets Electronic Media Competence Centre'.

UPM paper will also be run on several printing machines at Drupa.

The company said that various materials will be used in the construction of its, such as Profi Deck decking boards made of a wood-plastic composite.

Profi is based on a surplus of UPM's label materials production.

there will also be the new WISA-Image, a plywood for large format (XXL) digital printing that is also claimed to works with silk screen printing.
