Paper Company Issues Profit Warning

UPM has warned that its operating profit for 2008 is expected to be weaker than that of last year.
The company has blamed due higher than estimated costs of wood fibre sourcing and the weakening result for the sawn timber business.
At the beginning of the year, UPM said that it expected its full year operating profits for 2008 to be about the same as in 2007.
The company added that is continuing price increases for magazine papers will be announced, as it previously anticipated.
UPM will release its financial result for April-June on July 24.
