The company said it targets service and field staff within manufacturing industries, especially those who carry out service of advanced products in the field.

"It can be described as a 'pocket archive' with all your documents available and always updated.

Traditional manuals and service instructions easily get cumbersome and out of date, problems that are eliminated with the Visiarc solution.

When service staff in the field needs access to a document, the right document is sent to the mobile phone.

The Visiarc System is said to comprise two components - one server and a client for each user.

The server is integrated with the existing business system and secures synchronization.

The server, written in Java, supports the most common operating system including Windows, Linux and Solaris.

The client offers what is described as a user-friendly interface and is currently available for Sony Ericsson, Nokia and Siemens mobile phones.

The Visiarc System is available now in English and Swedish and can be delivered in French, German, Italian and Spanish, said the company.

It is available from Visiarc AB or one of its partners.

Visiarc AB provides software and services for management aiming to make use of technical documentation on wireless phones, personal digital assistants and traditional computers.
