Videojet Technologies has launched its new Marsh Encore ink jet system to provide high-resolution printing with what it believes to be an advanced user interface.

Videojet Technologies has launched its new Marsh Encore ink jet system to provide high-resolution printing with what it believes to be an advanced user interface to make message creation quick, easy and as near error-free as possible.

It utilises the Windows CE operating system, to provide a Windows look and feel.

Messages can be created off-line and downloaded to one or multiple controllers.

A central database of messages can be created from which codes and graphics can be accessed and stored, reducing code input errors and message set up time.

The Marsh Encore incorporates a full VGA (640 x 480) colour LCD display, which is easy to read.

The intuitive, graphical, icon-based user interface and WYSIWYG image editor is said to make message creation quick and easy.

The membrane keypad with Qwerty PC-style layout and touch pad offers ease of data entry and message creation.

With 25 MB of message storage, Videojet said there is ample message, font and graphic storage for a wide range of applications.

The ink jet printer prints alphanumeric codes, graphics and bar codes at 300dpi x 150dpi.

With a maximum character height of 51 mm, up to 32 lines of print from a single print head, the printer has a maximum conveyor line speeds of 61mpm for alphanumeric codes.

It can print true type fonts and custom graphics, enabling users to generate complete generic case coding, providing the flexibility of dynamic printing of blank shippers and eliminating the need for pre-printed cartons.

In addition, this large character printer can print high quality bar codes that meet UCC and EAN specifications.

Each printer controller can control up to four print heads, reducing the need for additional pieces of equipment, and providing flexible print head configurations.

The solid, cast aluminium housing of the controller is designed to assist with long life.
