Only eight months after istalliing a Vio Worldwide and Markzware JDF compliant digital workflow and preflighting system, the Telegraph Group has seen significant growth in digital advertising.

The publisher of the UK broadsheet newspapers The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph, the group is now receiving 33 per cent of classified advertisements digitally via its pre-flight and delivery web based service that is hosted and managed by Vio Worldwide.

Commenting on the success of the service, Mark Fletcher, group advertising production manager at Telegraph Group said: "The ability to receive advertisements quickly and effortlessly is critical to maintaining an efficient production environment, so we've promoted the pre-flight service regularly through the motoring, travel, property and recruitment sections of the newspaper to drive usage and the response has been tremendous.

With the Vio Worldwide Markzware system, we can receive ads from across the spectrum, from one-man bands to large agencies and pre-press houses and from small classified insertions to full run-of-paper (ROP) advertisements." He said that the group had been so impressed with the digital workflow and pre-flight operation that it had upgraded the service to send email notifications of advertisement deliveries to the sender.

The email thanks the sender for using the pre-flight and delivery service and includes one of Vio Worldwide's job tickets, providing the sender with the original file name and the name that the file has been assigned on Telegraph Group's production database.

"We are also working with Vio Worldwide to introduce additional services that will continue to add value to our production workflow.

We are completely committed to expanding this increasingly popular service and offering our customers an easy alternative to traditional methods of file transfer and checking procedures," said Fletcher.

Chris Friend, Vio Worldwide executive vice president of sales and marketing in Europe commented: "Telegraph Group is a prime example of how Vio Worldwide and Markzware have worked together to offer a united online preflight and digital workflow solution.

By managing and hosting Telegraph Group's service, we are able to control and monitor the complete process for them and in doing so, also offer their customers a quick and effective alternative to sending their files." Vio Worldwide and Markzware have provided JDF integrated preflight and digital workflows to companies such as Reed Business Information and The Periodical Publishers Association.
