UV curing technology specialist VTI is now offering a range of parts, including its exclusive UK and European agenncy for the Yieldmax web cleaning and contamination control system, which it will be launching at Labelexpo Europe in September.

VTI's Neal Smart is confident about the business diversification: "With over 40 years combined experience in supplying the narrow web, labels and continuous stationary markets we have grown to know our customers and meeting their needs is like second nature to us." Yieldmax said that it found that in recent years technology across industries have been driving toward greater refinement and definition, better quality and improved yields.

In those more demanding applications, contamination less than 50 microns has become a real problem.

Vacuum systems are limited in effectiveness by the boundary layer, where rapid air movement traps smaller particles at the substrate surface and brush systems wear down giving off their own contamination and can cause delicate substrates to be scratched.

To combat those problems Yieldmax developed its blue roller, particle transfer method.

Claimed to be effective on all particle sizes that would have been previously trapped by the boundary layer, it also eliminates scratching by ensuring the contamination is not dragged across the substrate owing to the rolling contact, added the company.

The blue roller cleaning systems can be configured for use with virtually any application from 25mm to over three metres wide and with claimed web speeds of up to 300 metres per minute, single or double sided.

It can also be retro-fitted and the refined Bluemax rollers can be fitted to any make of web cleaning unit.

The system is said to provide improved product yield and quality, minimising downtime and its low running costs mean a rapid return on investment.

VTI and the Yieldmax web cleaning system will be seen on the VTI Labelexpo stand in hall 7, stand M130.
