Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Nov 21, 2007

Watt Gilchrist, the specialist design, pre-press and publishing agency, has extended is business operations, opening two new offices in Shenzhen, China and Hong Kong

As part of Watt Gilchrist's ambitious expansion plan, the offices will support the company's clients, ensuring quality and security of packaging produced in Asia.

Paul Bean, Managing Director of Watt Gilchrist, said: "The international marketplace is becoming more important to our clients, so we have adapted our business operations to meet the changing overseas requirements".

"With the Chinese economy booming, outsourcing to this market is just good business sense".

"However, the demand for managing suppliers at source is crucial because of counterfeiting and quality".

"Brands cannot afford problems ten weeks later when the goods are delivered".

Watt Gilchrist's new offices, run by teams of expert technologists, will manage the control systems for print and packaging suppliers during the production process in China and Hong Kong.

This will ensure colour consistency and specifications meet brand guidelines.

Paul added: "With international suppliers becoming everyday life we have extensive expansion plans in place and will be looking to open additional offices in key markets over the next year.".
