Watkiss Automations' new Automatic Spinemaster has been designed for the digital print market to take traditional stitch-fold booklets and transform them into square-back books said the company.

That is claimed to give users the dual advantages of the security of a stitched spine combined with the superior appearance and ease of handling of a perfect bound book.

Watkiss is now also offering its Vario Bookmaker System, a dual-purpose online and offline finisher that is said to fit online to a variety of high-speed digital copiers and printers.

Watkiss claimed that it could be easily switched between on-line or off-line operation, giving it the flexibility to finish the output from the entire print room.
