'What a fantastic exhibition!' exclaimed Paul Attew, sales director at Watkiss, speaking about Digital Print World.

'What a fantastic exhibition!' exclaimed Paul Attew, sales director at Watkiss, speaking about Digital Print World.

'Confirmed orders have exceeded our targets for all product ranges - we've sold DigiVAC Collating Systems, Document Finishing Systems, Lamibind perfect binders and numerous Automatic SpineMasters.

'Visitors to the exhibition had genuine purchase intentions, so I can see that the next few months are going to be very busy.

'It is very encouraging to see the industry in such a buoyant mood'.

Watkiss Automation was exhibiting an extended range of collating, book and booklet making equipment tailored to the requirements of digital print applications.

On show for the first time was a range of Lamibind perfect binders, which perfectly compliment Watkiss' existing range of collating and booklet making equipment including the Watkiss DigiVAC, Vario and SpineMaster lines.

The Lamibind range includes three different models (the 340, 380 and 420) and a variety of customer-specified options.

Watkiss was also exhibiting the Document Finishing System - a booklet making system which is custom-designed to accommodate the varied demands of a digital print environment.

It combines the functionality of a collator, a sheet feeder and a booklet maker.

Watkiss received several orders for the Watkiss DigiVAC Collating and Finishing System.

It is well suited to digital print applications - it is very gentle on delicate digitally printed stocks and is extremely simple to operate, needing no special paper-handling skills.

Because it can be loaded on the run, there is no down-time; and so time critical jobs are finished faster.

The Watkiss Automatic SpineMaster, which takes traditional stitch-fold booklets and transforms them into SquareBack books, was also on show.

It gives the dual advantages of the security of a stitched spine combined with the superior appearance and ease of handling of a perfect bound book.
