Wam!net UK has announced that it will close its 4-Sight operations on September 11 2003.

Since 1989 4-SIGHT, and later Wam!net, has produced and offered ISDN and ADSL point-to-point file transfer management software under a variety of designations including ISDN ManagerT, ADS, Transmission Manager and Transmission Director.

The company cites broadband communication alternatives, which have already severely affected other companies serving the ISDN industry, as the main contributor to the closure of the operations.

The general migration to internet-based networking alternatives, such as FTP, email and Wam!net Workspace as a result of increasing broadband availability has significantly reduced the demand for 4-Sight products The company said that 4-Sight software users could access the latest technical support information its Web site until the end of the year.
