Additionally, Discovery Communications was experiencing growth within all its divisions resulting in the need to effectively manage 5,000 employees' printing material requests.
Webb/Mason's solution to the problems was to build its on-line print procurement system - Enterprise Print Management (EPM) Online - for Discovery Communications.
In less than 60 days Discovery Communications had an e-procurement system that enables all Discovery Communications staff to access, view, proof and order the business support materials they need.
In addition, the system ensures each division's brand guidelines are met every single time an order is placed, said Webb/Mason.
Webb/Mason said its EPM Online created a streamlined system that enabled Discovery Communications to realise a 60 per cent print savings, which is more than US$100,000 per year.
The on-line print procurement system also decreased the turn-around time of orders by 10 days.
In addition, EPM Online reduced Discovery Communications' numerous monthly printing and fulfillment vendor invoices to one manageable report.
This enabled the company to decrease the cost of processing printing and fulfillment transactions and invoices by more than 50 per cent.
