Webb/Mason, a national print management company in the USA, has acquired Global DocugraphiX's Shelbyville, Tennessee operation.
The business is a printing, promotional products, office products, scanning and document management provider.
Webb/Mason has also acquired Topform Software, a multi-user operational software developer and marketer.
Warner Mason, Webb/Mason's president and co-founder, said: "The acquisitions are a natural and logical extension of our philosophy to provide innovative technologies, superior products and outstanding customer service.
The acquisitions of the Global Docugraphix Shelbyville operation and Topform reflect our commitment to meet the print management needs of our customers with the industry's broadest portfolio of print services." Mason added: "The acquisition of the Shelbyville operation was truly organic for us as both companies are so similar in terms of our commitment to customer service and applied technology.
The operation has been a top producer among Global Docugraphix's regional sales offices and includes Shelbyville's ISO 9001:2000 certified warehouse.
Equally important, we have retained all of the office's management team." Webb/Mason will retain the existing staff of 14 and expects a smooth transition from one organisation to another because the businesses philosophies and cultures are very similar.
G E Haskins Junior, who managed the Shelbyville office and will continue as Webb/Mason Shelbyville vice president of sales, agreed.
He said: "We share with Webb/Mason a very similar commitment to servicing customers and delivering superior print management services.
As a result, existing and new customers will receive the same, high level of attention and quality of service." Customers will benefit from Webb/Mason's on-line print procurement system, Enterprise Print Management (EPM) Online, customer service and 17 years of expertise in the print management industry, said the company.
Topform Software is based in Norcross, Georgia.
It develops and markets multi-user operational software for print distributors internationally.
Mason explained: "Webb/Mason has been a Topform customer for 14 years.
Throughout our relationship we have been instrumental in driving new systems at TopForm, whilst also benefiting from its exceptional software products and customer support.
Because of this established synergy, the decision to acquire Topform was both easy and logical." Webb/Mason will retain the existing Topform staff of 20 people and expects a smooth transition.
Julie Pritchard, Topform's president, commented: "Topform and Webb/Mason have been partners in innovation for more than a decade and will continue to maximise each other's strengths to benefit the industry-at-large." And she continued: "The acquisition allows us to accelerate our level of product innovation, technical advancement, value added service and customer support.
Likewise, customers will continue to retain control over their secured data, whilst benefiting from the strategic support that Webb/Mason provides.".
