Weko UK has announced the availability of its RF Compact Coating System - a new coating method for film, foil and paper applications.

The Weko-RF is designed for the precision coating of various printing improvement agents and other surface treatments in a number of applications in the plastic film manufacturing, converting and packaging industries.

The Weko-RF Rotor Coating System offers particular benefits in the contact-free coating of anti-static, anti blocking and anti-fogging agents onto plastic film, ensuring high quality levels are maintained.

The system ensures the precise and even application of sprayed droplets onto the film itself.

Additionally, the front and back of plastic films can be treated with different coatings.

Used either as a stand-alone system on converting lines or retro-fitted to the exit of a film extruder, the Weko-RF offers converters an ideal and economical means of providing a value-added product to customers.

Importantly, the Weko-RF Coating System represents a worthy alternative to the installation of a full coating line, avoiding the disruption and expense to business associated with such modifications, it is claimed.

Weko UK managing director Harry Queisser, said: "Our RF Rotor System is quite revolutionary and provides converters with an economical means of improving quality in a multitude of different applications." The coating system is said to also enhance efficiency and performance in roles that include the coating of primers to prevent sticking in the flat and stretch film-industry, as typically used in food packaging, for example.
