The Taifun-Clean ETC 04 is designed to eliminate electrostatic attraction between dust particles and components.

The Taifun-Clean ETC 04 works by generating a high turbulent air current, appropriate to the required application.

The company claimed that the features of the design make it more effective than some other models, in that it uses rotating compressed air nozzles that pulsate, instead of air 'gates' that blow a curtain of air.

As a result, the ETC 04 is able to offer a more agitated airflow and easily remove contamination from areas that constant air stream systems cannot reach.

Using two ionisation bars to treat electrically charged surfaces, the Taifun-Clean ETC 04 is designed for the removal of troublesome dust and material particles in various print room environments, including the cleaning of paper and plastic before the coating, printing, laminating or wrapping stage.

Commenting on the attributes of the Taifun-Clean ETC 04, Gary Richer, from Weko UK, said: "From a quality control aspect, this particular Taifun-Clean system raises the bar considerably.

There are obvious benefits offered in print applications, prior to ink lay down.

For example, unwanted dust particles on the web could ruin a print run, forcing a job to be re-run at a later date - possibly resulting in a missed deadline and additional expense for the printer.

Integrating such a system would reduce the need for full cleaning and downtime and extend the life of the web itself.".
