New printer applicator labels adjacent sides

A Weber Marking Systems product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Jul 24, 2008

Two new models from Weber Marking Systems will appear for the first time at the PPMA Show in the UK.

The company will be demonstrating its new printer applicator, the Model 5300 Series, which was launched in Europe at Interpack last April.

It will also unveil a new printer applicator for pallets, which is claimed to allow labelling on adjacent sides without pallet stop.

The 5300, engineered and manufactured exclusively by Weber, features a number of enhancements and innovations to offer maximum flexibility and versatility for users, combining modular design with high-speed, high-quality label printing, application and optional RFID encoding, claimed the company.

The modular design means the new model can offer six different pressure-sensitive label application methods - air-blow, tamp-blow, direct-tamp, corner-wrap, swing-tamp and two label and adjacent panel printing.

This is said to enable the 5300 to be reconfigured to meet future labelling requirements without the need to acquire a separate printer-applicator.

The new Legitronic TB-2A pallet printer applicator is claimed by Weber to represent an advance in the adjacent labelling of pallets, which previously would have required one or two pallet stops.

The TB-2A is able to apply labels to moving pallets, with up to five adjacent application cycles per minute.

The TB-2A can be specified in either right or left hand versions and offers three different labelling cycles - side, front or back, as well as side and front or back.

Real time information can be included for each individual pallet, added the company and, in addition, the TB-2A is said to be suitable for labelling cartons, boxes and other forms of outer packaging.

The Weber stand at PPMA will also include models from the company's range of printer applicators, label applicators and label printers, along with examples of its label design and manufacturing capabilities.
