Wyndeham Press Group will implement the Technique production planning software across the group.

Wyndeham Press Group will implement the Technique production planning software across the group.

The investment, in the region of GBP100,000, includes the installation of Technique software at all eight web and sheet fed printing plants in the Wyndeham Press Group, including flagship magazine printer Wyndeham Heron, which will be the first plant where the system will be installed.

The implementation of Technique complements Wyndeham's move to a more integrated business model and will help further improve production efficiencies, said the group.

The group believes that the new systems enable management and the central sales team to look at available capacity from a group perspective and allocate work appropriately to optimise utilisation across all sites.

It will also provide for increased visibility of vital information centrally, whilst enabling continued autonomy at local sites, added the group.

Roy Kingston, Wyndeham Group operations director, said: "Technique's experience of handling multi-company organisations demonstrated exactly what we were looking for as a group of companies.

The modular approach taken by Technique and its willingness to integrate with our existing systems made it a clear choice." He added: "A number of the companies in the group share common work and the new system will be the key to sharing available resources and tracking production management information at a group level." Paul Cooper managing director of Technique Business Systems, said: "We are very pleased to be able to offer Wyndeham modular systems that fit its needs well without having to change systems that already work.".
