The contract for IPC Southbank's Ideal Home magazine has been secured by Wyndeham Heron, with St Ives, Caerphilly losing out.
The Wyndeham Press Group has long been a user of Agfa pre-press technology and David Brown, recently appointed as group technical director, has played an important role in beta testing the various developments of Apogee at Wyndeham Heron.
Now the Wyndeham Press Group is undergoing a number of reorganisations, which call for a standardisation of workflow and, after trials, Brown is overseeing the adoption of Agfa's latest ApogeeX 2.5 across the group.
David Brown said: "This will help maximise the investments the group has made at individual locations and reduce the need to duplicate specialist pieces of production equipment at various sites.
The standardisation of ApogeeX will also play a significant role in maintaining quality and efficiency throughout the Group." He added: "Recent developments of various software applications have also called for the group to upgrade to the most up-to-date version of ApogeeX workflow system.
In fact, ApogeeX 2.5 incorporates functionality to protect against 'future proofing' or 'version creep' of complementary software applications." Laurence Roberts, a director of Agfa Graphic Systems UK, commented: "This is yet another strong endorsement from one of the UK's leading commercial print groups that Agfa really is leading the way in workflow technology.".
