Inkjet developer Xaar is launching its new Fast Dry coding and marking ink, designed specifically for use with the XJ128 printhead for coding and marking applications.

Developed in conjunction with ink manufacturer Sunjet, Fast Dry is a black dye-based solvent ink formulated to achieve adhesion on non-porous substrates such as glass, metals and plastics (high-density polyethylene, for instance).

The ink is also said to achieve rapid dry times when printing onto a range of porous substrates including paper and board.

It is also claimed to accelerate production, enabling users to benefit from faster job turnaround and a reduced delivery times.

"The Fast Dry coding and marking ink is an exciting addition to Xaar's ink portfolio," said Jill Woods, ink product manager at Xaar.

The ink has been developed to ensure optimum performance with the XJ128 printheads, whilst at the same time guaranteeing excellent quality output.

Its drying properties provide a drying time of approximately five seconds on non-porous substrates, offering customers fast, high quality results." The ink is available in a 1kg pack size and has a shelf life of up to 12 months from the date of manufacturing, said the company.
