Grayscale Printheads Go On Show At FESPA 2008
The Fespa Digital exhibition will see Xaar stage inkjet printing technology demonstrations that will show the potential of its latest 760 and 1001 grayscale printheads.
The Colour+ XV ink series aimed at wide format scanning applications is designed to be used on a variety of substrates, including banner grade PVC, self-adhesive vinyl, textile mesh and paper.
Xaar claims the new inks have light fastness properties that make them suitable durable outdoor applications.
In addition, the inks have been formulated for rapid dry times on substrates without the application of heat.
The company said that typical drying time for the inks on vinyl, for example, is 60 seconds at 40 degrees C.
The new ink series also shows abrasion resistance as well as to water and common solvents when used on recommended materials.
Jill Woods, Xaar's inks product manager said: "With a growing concern over the number of third party unapproved inks coming to market, we and our ink partners are working together to develop approved inks that have been specifically designed to work with our printheads.
By investing in Xaar approved inks, OEMs and end-users can be assured that our printheads will achieve optimum performance levels and avoid the hazards caused by unapproved inks, which can result in machine downtime and high maintenance costs." Colour+ XV ink series is available in the process colours - cyan, light-cyan, magenta, light-magenta, yellow and black.
The inks are said to come with a shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacturing when stored between five degrees C and 30 degrees C. Request a free brochure from Xaar ...
