Xaar's Scores £6m Profit After 2003 Loss

Xaar plc, the Cambridge (UK) inkjet printing technology group has announced that its sales for the full year are expected to be more than £35.0m.

That compares to £29.2m in 2003 said the company.

With a profit before tax (and foreign exchange movements on inter-company loans) ahead of expectations at slightly more than £6m, compared to a 2003 loss of £1.3m on a comparable basis, cash at the year-end was £15.0m (£8.5m last year) said Xaar.

The company added that the outlook for 2005 is positive although the group's primary trading currency, the US dollar, remained weak.

The announcement of the full year results for 2004 is expected on March 15.
