Partnership Boosts Packaging Inkjet Development

Xaar has extended its relationship with Imaging Technology International Corporation (ITI) as a preferred integration partner for inkjet applications.

Xaar has extended its relationship with Imaging Technology International Corporation (ITI) of Boulder, Colorado (USA) with the nomination of ITI as a preferred integration partner for inkjet applications.

The initial collaboration between Xaar and ITI was announced on last September.

Together, ITI and Xaar are integrating Xaar printheads and other products for developing markets including printed packaging.

Both parties will cooperate to provide complete industrial systems for clients wanting to use Xaar's printhead technology and ITI's inkjet based production systems in their manufacturing and packaging processes.

ITI has developed a range of equipment for those and other markets aimed at both early stage research and full commercial production.

Commenting on the new agreement, Nigel Berry, the deputy chief executive officer of Xaar, said: "We welcome ITI as a preferred integration partner, as the company has long experience of developing and integrating inkjet in to new markets and currently offer a strong range of innovative equipment for new and existing inkjet users.

The extended relationship forms part of our strategy of building a strong network of integrators that will accelerate the rate of adoption of Xaar's inkjet technology by these new markets." Bruce Morgan, the chief executive officer of ITI, said: "Whilst inkjet has long dominated home and office printing markets, it has only recently been adopted by leading manufacturers as a transformational production technology.

Inkjet enables digital workflow in traditional analogue production processes in markets, such as printable electronics and industrial packaging.

The collaboration with Xaar will allow us to provide customers with cutting edge digital manufacturing and packaging systems on an accelerated basis.".
