Xaar's manufacturing operation, Xaarjet, in Stockholm (Sweden) has been certified as compliant with the internationally recognised Environmental Management Standard System ISO 14001:2004.

Xaar's manufacturing operation, Xaarjet, in Stockholm (Sweden) has been certified as compliant with the internationally recognised Environmental Management Standard System ISO 14001:2004 and given full accreditation.

ISO 14001 specifies the actual requirements for an environmental management system.

It is also the only ISO 14000 standard that can be certified by an external certification authority.

ISO 14001 applies to those environmental aspects, both short and long term, over which the organisation has control and over which it can be expected to have an influence.

"The management team at Xaarjet took the view that as well as leading the development of inkjet technology, as a company, it was important for Xaar also to take a lead in the environmental management of our manufacturing plant," said Greg Lockett, the director of manufacturing at Xaarjet.

"We have invested time and resources to ensure that Xaarjet has a defined environmental management system, against which the activities of the company can be measured.

We consider it a significant achievement that Xaar has now gained this internationally recognised accreditation," Lockett added.
