Hexion Is New US Inks Partner For Xaar

Hexion Specialty Chemicals is the latest US ink manufacturer to be announced as an official ink partner with digital inkjet printhead manufacturer Xaar of Cambridge (UK).

Hexion Specialty Chemicals is the latest US ink manufacturer to be announced as an official ink partner with digital inkjet printhead manufacturer Xaar of Cambridge (UK).

The ink agreement relates specifically to Hexion's range of Hexijet UV curable inks that are designed for high performance digital inkjet printing.

Hexion Specialty Chemicals said that it is the world's largest producer of thermosetting resins and producer of UV-curable materials.

Xaar's ink product manager Dr Jill Woods, commented: "We are very excited by our partnership with Hexion and this announcement of its official ink partner status takes us another significant step forward.

Together with Hexion, we will begin to explore a range of niche applications that have not been open to us before." Paul Lindquist, Hexion's business development manager, said: "Hexion has built a solid UV inkjet platform for the graphic arts market, which can be tailored by our team of formulators to target niche industrial applications, specifically where adhesion to substrates is an issue.

Our manufacturing facilities are flexible enough to accommodate short product runs and we can quickly adapt products and technologies to meet customer and marketplace needs." Hexion, Columbus, Ohio, is a combinaiton of the former Borden Chemical, Bakelite, Resolution Performance Products and Resolution Specialty Materials.

With 86 manufacturing and distribution facilities in 18 countries, Hexion serves global markets through a range of thermoset and specialty products, together with technical support.
