Inkjet Printheads Provide Wide Format
Performance

Eurotech Printers in Istanbul (Turkey) has launched a new range of wide format printers to the European graphic arts market, using Xaar's XJ500 binary printheads.

Eurotech Printers in Istanbul (Turkey) has launched a new range of wide format printers to the European graphic arts market, using Xaar's XJ500 binary printheads The Eurotech Eagle and Eurotech X5 solvent-based inkjet printers, which made their debut at the Outdoor and Indoor Exhibition in Istanbul in September, are claimed to offer robust, high performance systems ideally for the growing European sign and banner industries

The XJ500 printhead has a 70mm, 500-nozzle print swathe and self-contained, control electronics offering high performance and a flexible wide-format and grand-format binary inkjet system, said Xaar.

The Eurotech Eagle and the Eurotech X5 printers have a 3.2-metre wide print capacity, and are said to print at up to 720 dots per inch (dpi) and include a Colourgate RIP as standard, for colour control throughout the production process.

The machines also come with three auto-cleaning system options, an air supply, and in a choice of four-colour or six-colour versions.

The Eurotech X5 offers an open-frame configuration with the Eurotech Eagle being a closed-frame printer.

Mark Alexander, Xaar's marketing manager, said: "Eurotech's success in launching these new wide format printers in to the European market demonstrates that the market is still growing and that European manufacturers continue to develop innovative products to meet the needs of the market.

Both the Eagle and the X5 printers were very well received at their launch in Istanbul and orders are already coming in from European print houses." The two new wide format printers join Eurotech's growing wide format inkjet printer range, including the Billboarder and the Jetto, both of which are also based on Xaar technology and incorporate its industry standard XJ126 printhead.

The Billboarder is a 3.2-metre wide, 16-head, four-colour wide format inkjet printer for printing on a range of substrates, including indoor and outdoor posters and PVC banners.

An entry level solvent-based printer, the Jetto, is offered in 1.8-metre, 2.5-metre and 3.2-metre widths, combined with four, eight, or 12 heads, delivering four-colour printing.

Concluded Alexander: "We look forward to continuing our partnership with Eurotech Printers and its parent company, NAC Group, as we move in to 2006. Request a free brochure from Xaar ...

With IPEX clearly on the horizon, I believe it will be an exciting year for both inkjet technology and the graphic arts industry in general.".
