Xaar has approved Fujifilm Sericol's Color+ XV ink for use with the company's XJ-128/40W and XJ-126/50 inkjet printheads.

Xaar has approved Fujifilm Sericol's Color+ XV ink for use with the company's XJ-128/40W and XJ-126/50 inkjet printheads.

Xaar said that the combination of Fujifilm Sericol's pigmented solvent inks and Xaar's piezoelectric technology offers a consistent and flexible inkjet system for sign and specialty graphics printers.

Developed specifically for wide-format digital printers, the Color+ XV inks use high-quality pigments blended with specialised solvents to produce brilliant colours, added Xaar.

The inks also feature lightfastness and adhesion to a range of uncoated materials.

In addition, the inks have been formulated for rapid drying times without the application of heat - for example, typical drying times for the inks on vinyl are 60 seconds at 40 degrees C it is claimed.

Xaar's ink product manager, Dr Jill Woods, commented: "These inks have been through our rigorous testing programme and performed extremely well.

Close collaboration with ink partners, such as Fujifilm Sericol, ensures that we provide the printer manufacturer and their customers with optimised inkjet systems that maintain excellent print performance and jetting reliability." The latest approvals mean that Colour+ XV is now optimised for use with all variants of Xaar's XJ-128 and XJ-126 printheads.

The XJ-128 is used across the wide-format graphics and coding and marking industries, whilst the XJ-126 is said to be suitable for the production of a range of graphics from indoor and outdoor signage, to banner printing and POS collateral.

Keith Nixon, digital business development manager for Fujifilm Sericol, commented: "The latest approvals with Xaar are a further step forward in our joint efforts to offer a range of distinctive products to the market.

The popularity of the XJ-126 and XJ-128 printheads makes this approval particularly exciting.".
